Parents and Families,

It is hard to believe that is already October, the school year is already going to fast. The weather is changing, please keep an eye on it and have students dress appropriately for the weather, we still have a few nice days left.

Things are going well for Oberon Elementary school; students have adjusted well to being back in school for 6 weeks already. Teachers have established routines that students are following, allowing for more efficient use of time for learning to take place.

As always, our school is focused intently on improving and advancing the reading and math scores of our students. Our first round of progress monitoring is completed, and teachers have well developed plans to provide highly impactful instruction within the classrooms. The progress monitoring allows us to diagnose individual skill levels of students and provide more guided instruction. It is always exciting to see students rise to the expectations our amazing staff sets out for them.

The week of October 6th – 10th, we will be doing our fall testing on the NDA+ platform. Along with our progress monitoring, this provides us with another diagnostic tool for staff to use in assessing student skill level. The scores of both NDA+ and progress monitoring will be available during parent-teacher conferences in November, if you would like to see them before hand, contact the school and we would be happy to share those with you for your individual student.

As always, we would like to stress the importance of students to be in regular attendance to school. The more a student is in school, the better their chance to be successful in education is. If you need assistance in this, please contact the school and we will be happy to help.

In closing, thank you for your continued support in the education and learning processes that we are working on in our school. The students that we get to see each day are the reason we enjoy coming to work each day.
